Accident on the KEGOC lines cause power cut in Almaty25.09.2012

Almaty. September 25. Kazakhstan Today - The accident on the lines KEGOC left residents without electricity Almaty, the Kazakhstan Today.

On Monday around 3:00 p.m. almost the entire city lost power. According to the press-service of "AlmatyEnergoSbyt" the power cut was caused by the accident on the KEGOC lines.

"September 24, 2012 at 2:44 p.m. during the planned work on the 1st bus network 220 kV Almaty electrical substation, the 2nd bus network 220 kV Almaty electrical substation was shut off in the case of a fault. In addition a huge deficit of the Almaty power unit (500 MW) has led to blackouts and a significant loss in power generation in the region. At 2:57 p.m. the system operator switched on the 1st bus network 220 kV Almaty electrical substation, energized, and has given the command to set the load on the power and to power the consumers. At 3:30 p.m., all the power gained scheduled load, at 3:50 p.m. the main consumers were powered," the Department of Public Relations of "KEGOC" informed.
