After arrival of heads of the states at the Bolashak station a presentation of the rail transit and transport potential of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, the Presidential press service informed.
Also there was conducted online launch of the Uzensite - the state border with Turkmenistan, along with the first dispatch of the train with Kazakhstan grain from Kostanai region to the Bolashak station.
After the completion of the presentation the two leaders talked with the directors of the railway companies of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.
The heads of the states also visited the station square, where they met with the railroad workers and the public of the region. Nursultan Nazarbayev greeted the people of the region and noted that Mangistau region is of particular importance for the country.
"The region is traditionally known for strong oil and gas industry. Thanks to it, the region makes a significant contribution to the economic development of the country. Investment are coming into the region, the standard of living of people is increasing. At the same time, in recent years another sphere has gained a strategic role -transport sphere," said Nursultan Nazarbayev .
The Head of State noted that the opening of the Kazakh-Turkmen section of the Uzen - Bereket-Gorgan railroad, which will pass through the territory of Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Iran, will allow Mangistau region to provide a way out to the Caspian Sea, and to the southern seas.
"This is a historic event for the region. The new railroad will not only facilitate the export of our products, but also attract transit traffic. And all of this means new businesses, new jobs for the residents of Mangistau. Government is implementing major projects, to create conditions for the development of each region, so that everyone can reach their potential. We have a clear long-term strategy. Consistently achieving its performance, we will improve the lives of every family, every town and village," said the president of Kazakhstan.
After that, on the border of the two states with the participation of Presidents Nursultan Nazarbayev and Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov docking laying ceremony of the "Golden leaf" was held.
In his speech, President Nursultan Nazarbayev said that this multinational facility has historical significance.
