"Presently, we are building a backup ground complex for control over KazSat satellites near Almaty, because having the only one ground complex is not enough. In July of this year, we hope to complete the construction," Mussabayev stated in an exclusive interview for the Prime Minister's official website.
This complex will back up the ground control system located in Akkol town.
It is noteworthy that the system of satellite communication and broadcasting KazSat will effectively solve the problem of communication and broadcasting across our country, and give impetus to the development of the communications industry, communications and multimedia services, such as the Internet, 3G, digital TV, IP-telephony, etc.
According to Kazcosmos, KazSat-2 satellite functioning in normal mode and designed to provide television broadcasting and transmission of data in the satellite communication system on the territory of Kazakhstan, Central Asia and the central part of Russia, as well as to meet the needs of Kazakh satellite operators, operates at 64% of its full capacity.
The head of the agency stressed that the main goal of the satellite communication system KazSat is to provide mutual support and backup of all satellite and broadcasting networks to meet the needs of national telecom operators.
