Moscow. July 22. Kazakhstan Today - The rocket Proton-M has suffered an accident due to abnormal operation of angular rate sensors, Kazakhstan Today reports.
According to the deputy head of the Russian Federal Space Agency Alexander Lopatin, as a result of a comprehensive study of experts it was established that three of the six sensors were turned one hundred and eighty degrees, which caused receiving by the missile's control system incorrect data on its orientation. Thus, we can conclude that the main reason for the collapse of the "Proton-M" was the human factor - the equipment has been properly installed at the stage of assembly of the spacecraft, ITAR-TASS reported.
Lopatin also reported that launches of "Proton" can be resumed in September. "Proton" launches areres cheduled to September. But, of course, we will determine the final dates after the completion of the work," he said.
"First we have to complete the work of the committee, to work out a plan to prevent similar events, check that all the instructions were carried out, and then continue with the launch," said Alexander Lopatin.
According to him, before the accident, the next run of "Proton-M" was also scheduled for the current month, but on the international program.
We recall that the carrier rocket "Proton-M" with three apparatuses "Glonass-M" was launched from the 81st site on Baikonur Cosmodrome on July 2. Almost immediately after leaving the ground missile sharply deviated from the flight path, and began to disintegrate in the air, exploded and fell near the launch site.
