Almaty. November 11. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan plans to construct first atomic power station with the budget cost of $1 billion by 2020 to diversify its energy sources. Vice Minister of Industry and New Technologies of Kazakhstan, Nurmuhambet Abdibekov, informed, the agency reports citing Bloomberg.

"Kazakhstan is negotiating with the Japanese corporation Toshiba, the Russian corporation Rosatom, and the French companies. Toshiba and Marubeni signed the memorandum of mutual understanding with the Kazakhstan National Nuclear Center to estimate the cost of the factory and help in feasibility report preparation," N. Abdibekov said in the video interview in New York on November 9.

"We need modern technologies. We are looking to creation of nuclear manufacture of electric energy. We are negotiating, first of all, with Russia, Toshiba, and the French companies for delivery of equipment and their possible participation in construction of the station," N. Abdibekov said.
