Gazprom to boost purchase of Central Asian gas

Almaty. January 20. Kazakhstan Today - Russia's state-owned energy giant Gazprom will boost gas purchases from Central Asian countries, the agency reports.
"In 2010 Gazprom purchased almost 38 billion cubic metres (from Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan). In 2011, purchases are expected to be around 38.8 billion cubic metres," Reuters reported. Gazprom's board of directors took the decision to buy more Central Asian gas during a meeting on its gas purchase, transit and sale policies to former Soviet republics.
