Astana. January 5. Kazakhstan Today - The commission on land disputes of the members of religious association Society of Consciousness of Krishna considers akimat (mayor office) of Karasay oblast of Almaty region decision and the decision of the courts of Karasay oblast and Almaty region regarding pulling down of unauthorized erected constructions and inexpedient use of the land valid and lawful. The commission Chairman, Vice President of the Committee informed today at the press conference.
According to him, on this territory the small houses were re-constructed as the hotels "where many foreigners frequently live violating passport system, without necessary registration according to the law."
A. Muhashov informed that the commission developed recommendations for both parties of the conflict. The akim (mayor) of Karasay oblast is recommended to take measures on non-admission of the shortcomings in the work on privatization of the land of Yeltay rural district and strengthen control over observance of requirements of the architecturally-town-planning legislation.
As it was informed earlier, Society of Consciousness of Krishna received the site in Karasay oblast of Almaty region in 1999. In 2005 the regional authorities brought the suit against Krishna community accusing them in the change of the specified purpose of the obtained area. On November 21, 2006 judicial executors demolished 14 houses of the members of the religious community that caused negative reaction from the House of Commons of the Parliament of the Great Britain, OSCE, the Embassies of the USA in Kazakhstan and big resonance in the world mass media.
