Oil extraction in Kazakhstan increased by 6.4 %

Astana. July 13. Kazakhstan Today - Following the results of I half of 2010, oil extraction in Kazakhstan has increased by 6.4 % in comparison with the similar period of the last year. The head of the Statistics Department, Alihan Smailov, informed at a briefing in the Statistics Agency, the agency reports.

"Extraction of crude oil, natural gas, coal, and iron ores has increased. Manufacture of foodstuffs, oil refining, construction materials, production of chemical, iron and steel industry, and mechanical engineering has increased. Manufacture growth, following the results of the first half of 2010, has been observed in all regions of the republic," A. Smailov informed.

According to the Statistics Agency, "in January - June of 2010, 39.2 million tons of oil have been extracted or by 6.4 % more and 18.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas or by 5.1 % more."

"Gasoline - 1.6 million tons, or by 32 % more, cement - 3 million tons, or by 21 % more."

According to A. Smailov, following the results of the first half of 2010, Kazakhstan produced 42 billion kw/h of electric energy that is by 7.8 % more than during the similar period of the last year.
